Barbara Ringwood
Barbara Ringwood is a dedicated Senior Occupational Therapist specialising in intellectual and developmental disabilities in higher education. Since joining the Trinity Centre for People with Intellectual Disabilities (TCPID) in early 2017, she has played a pivotal role in integrating occupational therapy into the Arts, Science, and Inclusive Applied Practice programme and TCPID.
Barbara oversees the occupational therapy modules and has been instrumental in developing the work placement and internship pathways. Collaborating closely with the Business Pathways Coordinator, she has also led the creation of an online mentor training programme for business partners to support internships.
Barbara has recently completed her Masters in Education, focusing her research on digital literacy and competency for people with intellectual disabilities in higher education. Additionally, she holds postgraduate certificates in Foundations in Neuroscience and Clinical Reasoning and Assessment in Sensory Integration Assessment.
Her commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities is evident in her innovative approach and dedication to her field.
